Moomba – Black, White and Ruby Red

February 23rd, 2011

The Media Moguls team have been working on a very exciting project that was finally unveiled today! The charming Michael Malthouse and gorgeous Ruby Rose were crowned the 2011 King and Queen of Moomba, amidst a bevy of circus performers, Bollywood dancers, an Egyptian band, hula hooper and handstander.

See more of Michael and Ruby at the Moomba Parade on Monday, 14 March. Better still, come along and join us at the 2011 Moomba Festival (11 to 14 March) – to break a Guinness World Record (we’re trying to have the largest Bollywood Dance Class in the world), enjoy the great free entertainment (Lisa Mitchell, The Audreys, Sally Seltmann, Vika and Linda, Dan Kellys Dream Band and more), or just have a good time with the family.

We hope to see you there!

An apple a day …. keeps Warnie healthy!

December 2nd, 2010

We just delivered a six pack to Warnie! No, not the kind of six pack you’re thinking of – a six pack of deliciously sweet and crunchy Jazz Apples! While watching the Ashes last weekend, we heard Shane Warne tell a Channel Nine commentator his secret health weapon is to eat an apple a day. No wonder he is looking and feeling so great these days!

His special early delivery of Jazz Apples were the very first batch from the trees this season. Mmmmmm apples.

Jazz Apples will hit all major supermarkets and food retailers in April 2011 so keep your eyes peeled.

The Gold Nugget

November 22nd, 2010

We have lost a Gold Nugget…well the courier with the delivery is missing. It’s a prize for a Sovereign Hill reader competition and it’s MIA. Panning for gold is one method for finding gold that we might need to become familiar with rather quickly.

MEDIA MOGULS TAKES ON MONA AND MOFO!

September 24th, 2010

That’s right! We are delighted to announce that we have been appointed as the PR Agency for the third MONA FOMA (Museum of Old and New Art, Festival of Music and Art) festival, taking place next January (14-20) in Hobart. We will also be managing the highly anticipated Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), which will open at the Moorilla Estate site from January 21 – 23 and take the title of Australia’s largest private art collection.

If you do not already know, MONA FOMA is a an annual festival based in Hobart, Tasmania. It has a legacy of outstanding acts (Nick Cave is one of them) and is curated by Brian Ritchie, bass player of rock band, The Violent Femmes and current member of new band The Break (with the former Midnight Oil guys). The festival promotes and showcases the work of artists in a broad range of art forms, including sound, noise, dance, theatre, visual art, performance, installations and new media. Popularly known as MOFO, the festival is largely funded by Tasmanian Art collector David Walsh. The festival features primarily free public events, with a few ticketed, headline acts (stay tuned and we promise to tell you more).

This year, the festival will coincide with the opening of MONA, which will host David’s private collection and be open free of charge to the public from Jan 22. The museum will hold an array of classics and controversial works. We promise you will be intrigued.

If you are a member of the media and would like to find out more, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Hello World!

July 4th, 2010

Welcome to the Media Moguls website.  Our core business focus for July 2010 is turning out to be creativity!  We are in the ‘new ideas’ phase for many of our clients so this means lots of laughter in the weekly coffee meeting, lots of web/blog surfing and regular reality checks (shame about that).  We also grapple with the ongoing topic of measurement. This is especially relevant in the digital space.  We have attended a lot of informative industry panel discussions and some rather overpriced digital PR workshops, but there is not yet one clear answer or solution emerging. What is clear is the change in the media environment…rapid change.  This is good for us.  We like change at Media Moguls.
